While the Auditor’s subpoena is completely unnecessary, the County fully intends to comply in an appropriate manner. In fact, our staff had already conveyed to the Auditor’s office that it would produce nearly all of the requested materials, but needed more time given the auditor only provided seven days to produce thousands of pages of documents, and given that County staff are working to meet a November 15 deadline to complete the 2020 budget. We would like to invite the public to join us in observing National Domestic Violence Awareness Month on October 16, 2019, at 12:30 p.m., with the unveiling of a newly-renovated Resource Center at the James S. Get ready to holiday with Clay this winter with oodles of holly jolly events and activities that are sure to make your season merry and bright! 

Nothing gets you into the holiday spirit quite like a jolly event or two! Clay has plenty of events to go around this year, so make sure you bundle up and go enjoy them! On December 7th, visit Hometown Holidays in Historic Downtown Liberty is a festive family favorite. Hop aboard a holiday themed trolley tour in Downtown Excelsior Springs for a truly unique experience. Tree decorating events can be found all around Clay during the holiday season. If you’re looking to enjoy one of these events this year, here’s a list of what’s coming up: November 19th, Gladstone Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting; November 22nd, North Kansas City Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting; December 7th, Liberty Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting.

Find some holiday joy at one of Clay’s many merry seasonal destinations. WinterFest at Worlds of Fun is a massive winter-land playground that offers all things holiday. The Linden Square Ice Skating Rink is a wonderful place to visit for a bit of wintry fun. The Hall of Trees in Excelsior Springs’ Hall of Waters is a beautiful ode to the season that is sure to dazzle. Don't forget, plenty of downtowns in Clay get festive during the holiday seasons with lights and décor, making them the perfect places to stop and visit for some winter fun!
