Last-minute Summer Fun Around Clay County!
The start of the school year is creeping up fast, which means it’s more important now than ever to fill up the last of your summer months with family-friendly fun! Here’s a look at what you can do before school is officially back in session.
Want to enjoy live music outside? Visit Gladstone’s Linden Square during their Sounds on the Square series to jam out to some local bands. Head to the amphitheater at Oak Grove Park August 2nd through the 4th to watch a free musical performance of the Disney hit, Tarzan! Catch local artists Noe Palma, Travis Marvin, and State Line Drive on August 3rd at the Kearney Country Showdown at the Kearney Amphitheatre.
Looking to cool off during this summer heat? Check out the Sprayground at Dagg Park in North Kansas City. Try out a new hobby by renting a kayak or paddleboard from Northland Outdoor Adventures at Smithville Lake! Plan a trip to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun; don’t forget that their first annual Grand Carnivale event is happening through August 4th, you don’t want to miss the festivities!
Before the summer is up, visit Downtown Smithville, Saturdays in August, to celebrate during Hot Summer Nights! Enjoy some delicious barbeque during Excelsior Springs’ annual BBQ and Fly-In on the River August 16th through the 17th!
