Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Clay County has disbursed all of its federal government funding and is no longer accepting new applications. For continued rental needs, call the United Way Hotline at 211. If there are children in the family in need of assistance, you can call the Clay County Children's Services Fund at 816-702-8686.

Clay County received $3.6 million in funding from the Federal Government as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act or second stimulus for an Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). The County also received another $2.9 million for a second phase, or (ERAP) 2.0 under the American Rescue Plan Act. Clay County was a direct recipient due to having more than 200,000 residents. Payments go to landlords and utility providers in order to make past due bills whole and potentially cover future needs.
